INTRODUCTION

Sustainable Built Environment 2016 (SBE16) Manila Conference will be hosted by the UP College of Engineering (UPCOE), UP College of Architecture (UPCA) and UP School of Urban and Regional Planning (SURP). SBE16 Manila is a regional conference of the International Initiatives on Sustainable Built Environment (iiSBE). This 3-day conference aims to promote and facilitate the adoption of methods, policies and tools to accelerate movements towards global sustainable built environments.

The hosting of this international conference is a great opportunity for Filipino faculty members and students who have limited resources and access to attend such forum to present papers, posters, network and exposure to worldwide sustainability issues.

We target 300 to 400 participants to attend SBE16 Manila Conference. The conference attendees will be able to see presentations by exemplary educators and practitioners from around the world. A Master Class or workshops will also be available for additional training experiences. There will be an exhibit area that will display academic posters on one side and another area for companies displaying latest hardware, software and technology resources available for sustainable design and building. There will also be networking opportunities with educators, engineers, architects and planners who are in similar teaching and research areas.
